Procrastination.

It is because I absolutely abhor packing that I am currently awake, looking at pictures of fabrics online. Instead of something useful, like sleeping! Or packing for my flight tomorrow.

I haven't really looked into fabric retailers, so I can't really comment on the prices of Lewis and Sheron, but their selection is huge. A word to the wise - don't click on the "View All" button. It's too intimidating.

Here are some of my picks for this shade/miniblind DIY.

Rumelia, $20/yd

Pearson, $25/yd

Grand Luxe, $14.98/yd

Fioretto, $24/98/yd

Document, $16.98/yd
Ok, this would make a fairly stupid curtain. ...or would it? I can't decide, maybe a lampshade or an ottoman would be pretty awesome.

Cross Section, $10.98/yd

Cat's Cradle, $19.98/yd

Matched Mismatched Stuff

I think the juxtaposition of the wallpapers is pretty cool, what with them having (sort of) opposite color schemes.

And here I really like the matched lamps in blue and black.

The sofa cushions in this picture come in pairs of yellow/red and circular/square, but the pairings are reversed. Awesome.

This has been covered already

In this post, but I thought I'd post some more pictures and other color options.

What an awesome lamp.

No Right Answers

So for work, we had to fill out this questionnaire, and there was this little "personal" section filled with questions like "What's your favorite vacation spot," "What's your favorite book," and worst of all, "What is your favorite hobby?"

I had the hardest time filling that one out. Unless you actually have a respectable hobby (like cooking or badminton or ultimate) that you're actually good at and want to show off, there's really not that much you can put without sounding incredibly tool-like and stupid.

Only unemployed stoners have hobbies like "watching TV," "computer games," "eating," and "sleeping," but this is apparently what I do. How incredibly depressing.

I eventually put down "sleeping" as the lesser of many evils, but I guess it makes sense given the hours I've spent looking at bedding recently. From Dwell Studio, which may be cheaper than Serena and Lily. Depends how many shams you want.

Serena and Lily bedding

Alright, be honest. Who else thought immediately of the van der Woodsens?

I can't afford anything but the bedding at Serena and Lily, so thankfully, there's not much else that really appeals to me there. Though they've got some really fantastically named aesthetics. They could really teach Thomas Paul a thing or two about adjectives.

Larger versions here and here.

I am especially partial to the Tess bedding collection.
Look at that gray duvet! Though I'm not certain I'd match them with tan swan thingys.

This cannot come as a surprise to anyone

But I love Thomas Paul. Especially the nautical/sealife-inspired stuff. I want an octopus tea towl and Thomas Paul wants me to have one too!

I must admit; a naming genius, the man is not, but it's nice to know exactly what to search for based only off an image.

Also, BurkeDecor is really, really expensive. The only things I can afford from there are small textiles like bathrobes, towels, pillows, and pillowcases.

And I know that a whale pillow, in addition to a whale print and a whale ashtray, might just be overkill, but I do love it so.

Very expensive websites

Evinco and 2Modern are at least 3 or 4 times more expensive than IKEA in most categories, though their furniture is just so beautiful.

However, 2Modern has quite a selection of lamps and pillows for cheaper than elsewhere on the net.

Evinco is actually quite reasonable when it comes to armchairs and sofabeds. It's mind-boggling. Evinco has quite a selection of leather club chairs, starting around $300, which is actually quite comparable to some of IKEA's more expensive chairs. The only conceivable lesson here is to only purchase IKEA's cheaper chairs, or to maybe buy a lot of leather club chairs.

Vaguely pop art pillows

From the etsy store alexandra ferguson.

How much does this one remind you of that terrible Shaggy song?

I know someone who will really appreciate this last one. Perhaps I'll try to talk her into buying it for me.

Shit. How many pillows can one apartment contain? Also, how much money will i end up spending on pillows (which are largely non-functional)?

Scandinavian Living at Huset

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get images off of Huset's website. Thankfully, others on the internet have managed what I cannot, so there will be pictures.

A sheepskin! And it's machine washable!

Ferm Living Tree Bomb Pillow
I have no idea why this is called what it's called.

Ferm Living Pouf Pouf
Could I make this myself? Probably.
Am I too lazy to do so? Most definitely.

Just a few picks, since the images have to be found through google. They have quite an adorable selection of person-shaped hooks, and all the tea accessories one's heart could desire.
