Not the greatest lighting

With a little bit more light, this bedroom would be awesome, especially with the orange bedspread. I'd change the chair to dark blue or a lighter shade of gray. And of course, add more lamps.

I'd need to get some sort of saw...

This IKEA hack is almost too simple, but totally doable at the same time. Customize your nightstand or sidetable by putting two Lack sidetables on top of each other, and cutting some height off the legs of the bottom one. I love tables with storage.

This is so cool

A laptop riser constructed out of IKEA furniture! Instructions here.

Wow.

Look at this woman's closet!

Check out The Container Store's elfa. Do not, under any circumstance, purchase one of their stupid closet design packages. Not to knock their experts' field of expertise or their manner of making a living, but can you totally do that too. Or something similar.

No Right Answers

So for work, we had to fill out this questionnaire, and there was this little "personal" section filled with questions like "What's your favorite vacation spot," "What's your favorite book," and worst of all, "What is your favorite hobby?"

I had the hardest time filling that one out. Unless you actually have a respectable hobby (like cooking or badminton or ultimate) that you're actually good at and want to show off, there's really not that much you can put without sounding incredibly tool-like and stupid.

Only unemployed stoners have hobbies like "watching TV," "computer games," "eating," and "sleeping," but this is apparently what I do. How incredibly depressing.

I eventually put down "sleeping" as the lesser of many evils, but I guess it makes sense given the hours I've spent looking at bedding recently. From Dwell Studio, which may be cheaper than Serena and Lily. Depends how many shams you want.

Serena and Lily bedding

Alright, be honest. Who else thought immediately of the van der Woodsens?

I can't afford anything but the bedding at Serena and Lily, so thankfully, there's not much else that really appeals to me there. Though they've got some really fantastically named aesthetics. They could really teach Thomas Paul a thing or two about adjectives.

Larger versions here and here.

I am especially partial to the Tess bedding collection.
Look at that gray duvet! Though I'm not certain I'd match them with tan swan thingys.
